- Description
- The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) seeks to engage with an industry partner, on a cost sharing basis, to expand domestic manufacturing capacity of injection molded plastic pipette tips and centrifuge tubes. These pharmaceutical consumable products are components of many types of end products used in the biomanufacturing process, for which the supply chain is currently unable to meet pandemic surge demands. Strategic oversight for the Project Agreement(s) supported by this RPP will be provided by BARDA. ASPR seeks established commercial-scale manufacturers of pipette tips and centrifuge tubes to undertake this effort on a cost sharing basis with the USG. The ultimate objective is to expand domestic capacity and develop a robust supply chain for these consumables, including raw materials, components, end product and personnel resources that is commercially sustainable during non-Public Health Emergency (PHE) periods, and which can be quickly brought to maximum manufacturing capacity during times of pandemic-level demand. The primary objective of this effort is to improve domestic manufacturing capacity for injection molded plastic pipette tips and centrifuge tubes to ensure sufficient capacity that can be used to respond to population scale threats. The schedule objective for this effort is 36 months to achieve all specific objectives described below.
