- MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Tuesday, 13 August 2024! The Air Force Research Laboratory�s Transformational Enablers Branch (AFRL/RSTE) is hosting an industry day for its �Virtual Intelligent Battle Management Command and Control Evaluation System (VIBES)� to provide industry insight into the VIBES project, which will lead to a Request for Information (RFI) regarding relevant research and development (R&D) projects, government subject matter expert (SME) review of RFI responses, and additional technical dialogue, when appropriate.� This invitation is open to all industry partners, academic institutions, National Laboratories, and Federally Funded R&D Centers (FFRDCs), regardless of size, with corporate investments in R&D. However, please note the security requirements below. Via VIBES, AFRL is looking for industry to deliver an operationally relevant virtual constructive environment to improve battle management effectiveness and assess/reduce operator workload in future conflicts. �The goal is to create an environment for assessing planned implementation of emerging Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) systems (both S&T and acquisition) anticipated in the next few years and those applicable in future time epochs (2030+). The VIBES industry day will be held virtually via MS Teams and include government speakers from multiple agencies and senior level subject matter experts (SMEs) with active roles in VIBES-related science and technology development, evaluation, and integration. Interested in participating? Here�s what you need to do: Send your (individual) expression of interest, contact information, and company�s Military Critical Technical Data Exchange Agreement (DD2345) to AFRL.HQ.IRDPM@us.af.mil before midnight Eastern Time, Monday, 05 Aug 2024. Each individual must submit the DD2345 applicable to their business unit, if more than one DD2345 has been issued under a parent business entity.� Once your expression of interest is received you will receive additional information for attending.� If you do not receive acknowledgement from the planning team within three business days, please resend your original email. Security The VIBES industry day will be held at the controlled unclassified level (CUI, Distribution C) and require each individual participant to provide their business/work unit�s signed and certified DD Form 2345. �Note: This is not a public forum, and access to the virtual sessions will be limited to those individuals providing a valid DD2345. � Expected Outcomes The VIBEs Industry Day is intended to provide vetted participants with as much information as possible to make a reasonable self-assessment of relevance in their past, current, and planned research and development efforts.� Following the industry day, the AFRL/RS Transformational Capabilities Office (TCO) will release a RFI to gather information that will contribute to the VIBES mission.� RFI responses will be reviewed by government SMEs with an eye toward follow-on conversations regarding the most relevant, high-potential technologies. Additional details will be provided during the industry day.
