Description
Sources Sought Synopsis (Request for Interested Manufacturers) FROM: Marcus Ashley, 408th SCMS/ GUEA TO: DLA Aviation Procurement Operations at Warner Robins (SPRWA1) LOCATION: Robins AFB, GA 31098-1813 FBO Post Title: Request for Interested Manufacturers: Radio Frequency (RF) Repeater/Receiver Switch (5985-01-174-3008) SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Radio Frequency (RF) Repeater/Receiver Switch, NSN 5985-01-174-3008, PN 435710-1. ITEM DESCRIPTION The RF repeater/receiver switch is responsible for rapidly switching between the repeater and receiver functions on the ALQ-161A. In repeater mode, the asset amplifies and retransmits the received radar signals in order to deceive the radar system targeting the aircraft. This is part of the overall electronic countermeasure (ECM) functionality. In receiver mode, the switch would pass the received radar signal to the ALQ-161s radar warning receiver for identification of the threat. The switch allows the ALQ-161 to rapidly switch between functions as needed based on the detected threat and the programmed countermeasure technique. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for this item was Eaton Advanced Electronic (CAGE 00752), now L3Harris (CAGE 82340). L3Harris maintains the RF repeater switch configuration by part number, 435710-1. The Government owns the specification control drawing for this asset. The drawings includes detailed specifications, dimensions, parts, materials, manufacturing processes, and testing required for manufacturing this asset. INTEREST Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 15 July 2024 by emailing Marcus Ashley marcus.ashley@us.af.mil or April Walls april.walls@us.af.mil . The Government intends to procure these items using Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.1, Full and Open Competition.
