- Purpose: The U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking interested vendors to provide long term storage for seven (7) Generator Sets (GENSET)s to support the Polar Security Cutter (PSC). The GENSETs consist of an engine and a generator mounted as a single unit. Four (4) Father GENSETs, two (2) Son GENSETs, and one (1) Emergency GENSET will ultimately need to be stored. The GENSET dimensions, quantity, and storage requirements are provided with this Sources Sought Notice (SSN). The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement may be 493110. Disclaimer: There is no solicitation at this time. This SSN is not a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this request is purely voluntary; the Government will not pay for any costs incurred nor is obligated to respond. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.� After reviewing responses to this SSN, and if the USCG still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement may be published on the Contract Opportunities (formerly FedBizOpps) website or distributed to contract holders if a strategically-sourced vehicle is deemed appropriate. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to monitor the Contract Opportunities website. Failure to respond or submit sufficiently detailed information may result in a company not being considered a likely offeror when making a decision on whether or how to set aside a solicitation for restricted competition. Regardless of the information submitted, the Government reserves the right to consider any arrangement as determined appropriate for this requirement. No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response to this RFI. The Government reserves the right to use any information provided by respondents for any purpose determined necessary and legally appropriate, including using technical information provided by respondents in any resultant solicitation. � Request: If your organization has the capabilities to provide long term storage for seven (7) GENSETs to support the PSC, please provide the following information: Organization name Address Website Point of contact name Point of contact email address Point of contact telephone number Socioeconomic status Unique Entity Identifier What information and/or resources would you typically need from the government to perform this effort? Does your company currently have existing government-wide acquisition contracts (GWAC) (e.g. GSA) or other strategically sourced contracts for these types of requirements that the USCG can order off? If yes, please provide contract number, what agency it is with, and agency point of contact information. What type of contract (e.g. firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, etc.) have you been issued before for this type of work? Do you recommend one type or a perhaps a hybrid (i.e. a contract that allows several types)? Have you stored similar items or items of the same size for other government agencies using your facility, and if so which agencies, provide POC and contract numbers. Is there typically a monthly fee or annual fee for long-term storage? Please provide ROM pricing based on the specifications for the GENSET below. Provide any general comments, thoughts, and feedback your company would like to share regarding this RFI. Dimensions and Quantity One Father GENSET dimensions are: Overall Length: 44� Overall Height: 16� Overall Width: 11� Estimated Weight: 167 Tons 4� of space is required around the GENSET for maintenance and inspection. Number of Father GENSETs for storage is 4. Son GENSET dimensions are: Overall Length: 33� Overall Height: 16� Overall Width: 10�� Estimated Weight: 82 Tons 4� of space is required around the GENSET for maintenance and inspection. Number of Son GENSETs for storage is 2. Emergency Generator dimensions are: Overall Length: 21� Overall Height: 9� Overall Width: 14� Estimated Weight is Pending.� 4� of space is required around the GENSET for maintenance and inspection. Number of Emergency GENSET for storage is 1. Storage Requirements: Duration of storage: approximately 4 years Climate controlled storage facility. Requires controlled humidity with ability to maintain a constant temperature of 0 � 50 Degrees Celsius (32 � 122 Degrees Fahrenheit). 480VAC needs to be available at each GENSET for condensation heaters. Access to the GENSETs needs to be limited/controlled to only authorized personnel. Maintenance is required on a periodic basis and will be performed by USCG contractors. Storage location needs to be near an International Deep-Water Port on the US East Coast or on the US Gulf Coast. GENSETs will be delivered to the storage facility by overland road.
