Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District intends to solicit a fixed price contract for repairs to the Drift Collection Vessel (DCV) Driftmaster. The solicitation will be restricted to shipyards within the boundary deemed safely navigable to reach by the DCV Driftmaster. Per DCV Driftmaster COI states that Routes Permitted is �Lakes, Bays, and Sounds.� Routes permitted is determined by the size, shape, and stability of the vessel. The work performance location shall be limited to the area within the project boundary labeled �Limit of Drift Removal Project,� as shown on the project map �New York Harbor NY and NJ Collection and Removal of Drift,� dated 30 September 1986, plus extended locations outside of this boundary, deemed safely navigable to reach by DCV DRIFTMASTER as follows: No further than a 100 nautical mile voyage via navigable waters eastward from the East Project Boundary in Long Island Sound (Port Chester). No further than a 70 nautical mile voyage via navigable waters northward from the North Project Boundary in the Hudson River (Tappan Zee). Description of Work a. The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, fittings, equipment, tools, power, compressed air, etc., and performing all work on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Drift Collection Vessel ""DRIFTMASTER"" specified herein unless otherwise noted.� The principal dimensions and physical data for the vessel are shown below: ���������������������������� GENERAL DESCRIPTION Length Overall ...............................................99'-1-1/8"" Breadth, Molded ............................................36'-0"" Depth, Molded ...............................................10�-0� Material ..........................................................All Welded Steel Displacement, light ........................................250 short tons Propellers (2) ..................................................58""Dx44""P, 3 blade Hull Form .......................................................Catamaran ABS I.D. No ...................................................4907343 The major workscope includes drydocking the vessel, cleaning and painting the hull, assisting with ABS and USCG required inspections, and miscellaneous modifications and repairs in accordance with these specifications. This is not a formal solicitation or request for proposal. This notice is to give notice of the Government�s intent to solicit this work under Other Than Full and Open Competition.
