Description
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Urban Security Technology Laboratory (NUSTL) is seeking information on commercially available thermal imaging cameras (TICs). This information is being sought for the DHS Science and Technology Directorate�s System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) program which provides information on commercially available equipment to assist response organizations in equipment selection and procurement. The SAVER program develops knowledge products and conducts objective, practitioner-relevant, operationally oriented assessments and validations on commercially available equipment and systems. Relevant information will be shared nationally�with federal, state, local, tribal and territorial response agencies. SAVER provides information on equipment that falls within the categories listed in the DHS Authorized Equipment List (AEL). The AEL item numbers for the subject products is 03OE-02-TILA-Optics, titled �Thermal Imaging and/or Light Amplification� and 04MD-01-IRED, titled �Camera, Infrared (IR)�. The target audience for this information is the fire service community and their respective purchasing agents. NUSTL is requesting information and conducting market research to identify potential vendors, manufacturers, or distributors of thermal imaging cameras. The products must be commercial- off-the-shelf (COTS) products that are available to the fire service community. All products that are compliant with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1801: Standard on Thermal Imagers for the Fire Service, 2021 Edition are of interest for this RFI as well as those with the following features: � Must be commercially available; � Must be marketed to the fire service community; � Must have a minimum refresh rate of more than 25 Hertz (Hz); � Must have a minimum camera resolution of 76,800 pixel (320 x 240); and � Must have an uncooled microbolometer
