Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Louisville District (LRL), will be soliciting a proposal for the contruction of�a one-story 2,600 SF facility to provide cover and seclusion for inspection of commercial vehicles entering the installation at the Minneapolis Saint Paul Air Reserve Station (ARS). As part of the construction contract solicitation, the USACE intends to include the following Brand Name requirements: A. Exit Devices: Grade 1: (1)Exit Devices: Manufacturer Von Duprin a. Furnish exit devices for exterior and interior doors where room occupancy numbers and life safety codes require them. The type of device used shall be a Concealed Vertical Rod, Mortise or Rim type device. The style of the device should resemble or match the devices used in an adjoining area or elsewhere in the building. Use the Cross Bar Exit Device, only when matching existing devices adjoining a new area or existing as a standard elsewhere in the building. Use the Touch Bar Device on all other applications. Lever Handles on the pull side of the door should match the style of the adjoining hardware, or the building standard lever style. Single door applications use the Rim Type, Mortise Lock Type, or Concealed Vertical Rod Type Exit Device. Pairs of doors with a Mullion, use the Rim Type Device. Pairs of doors with (No Mullion) use two Concealed Vertical Rod Type, Concealed Vertical Rod and Mortise Lock Type or one pair of Automatic Flush Bolt and the Mortise Lock Type. b. Provide UL listed exit devices for labeled openings. All adjustments shall require the use of tamper proof tools or valve keys. c. Provide thru-bolts for labeled mineral core doors. G. Cylinders and Keying: (1) Cylinders: To accept Small Format Interchangeable Core (SF/IC)(A2) a. Grade 1 b. Number of Pins: Seven c. Cores: Interchangeable (2) Construction Keying: Construction cores: a. Construction cores will be provided by CE Lock shop when needed to secure the construction site. (3) Keying System: Not required. Owner will furnish pinned cores and keys. H. Key lock boxes furnished by CE lock shop. I. Electric Strikes: Grade 1-Manufacure: Von Duprin or HES. J. Operating Trim: US26D K. Carry-open bars for pairs of doors L. Closers: Manufacturer -LCN (1) Surface: Grade 1 (2) Concealed: Grade 1 a. Size of closers for exterior doors shall be at least one size larger than manufacturer's recommendations. Size of closers for interior doors shall be in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations for individual door sizes and locations. Furnish closers larger than recommended for interior doors where necessary for proper operation of doors. b. Supply drop plates, brackets, or adapters for arms as required to suit details. Where wall conditions permit, doors shall swing 180 degrees. Mount closers on back side of door wherever possible and not exposed on corridor side. At pair or bank of doors provide same closer installation and size, with size equal to largest closers required by bank of doors. c. Provide back check for closers. Furnish hold-open where indicated. Furnish delayed action closer where indicated. Furnish closers for doors as noted in groups and in addition, furnish closers for labels and labeled construction doors whether or not specifically noted in group. M. Protective Trim Units: Stainless steel unless otherwise specified. N. Stops and Holders: (1) Provide doors with either wall stop or overhead stop (equipped with closers or not) unless specifically excepted. Do not mount wall stops on casework, cabinetwork, or equipment. Where wall stops are unsuitable, furnish an overhead stop or holder, GJ300HD Series, unless otherwise indicated. For special conditions use RB3, RB6 roller stops (where doors interfere). Wall stops: 50W, 60W, or WB11 at drywall walls (2"" nominal wood blocking provided by Section 09260). WB11 wall stop mounted at 6'-6"" from the floor. Floor stops: FB19X or FB13X (use only when unavoidable). a. Stops and Bumpers: Grade 1. b. Mechanical Door Holders: Grade 1. c. Combination Floor and Wall Stops and Holders: Grade 1. d. Combination Overhead Stops and Holders: Grade 1. e. Electromagnetic door holders for fire door assemblies. f.
