- Description
- The purpose of this requirement is to enable the Defense Counterintelligence and SecurityAgency (DCSA) Program Executive Office (PEO), to include the National Background InvestigationService (NBIS), National Industrial Security Systems (NISS), Defense Insider Threat Management andAnalysis Center (DITMAC) System of Systems (DSoS) program management offices, to acquire commercialcapabilities and services for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud instances in support of itsUnclassified, Secret, and top-secret systems. This is a non-personal services requirement to provide DCSA PEO with the Cloud consumption-based resources required toperform its mission using commercial off-the-shelf AWS GovCloud resources ""as a service"" (XaaS) in support of all Cloud requirements. In support of mission critical activities, the DCSA PEO, to include NBIS, NISS, DSoS programmanagement offices, maintains a sophisticated Information Technology (IT) environment throughcentralized management of budget, hardware lifecycle, system, and software development, andoperations. The combination of data stores supporting DCSAs various legacyand newer IT systems and environments has resulted in increasingly complex data integrationrequirements and challenges. DCSA PEO has a continued need to capture, consolidate and maintain anenterprise-level cloud environment for its data repository through AWS. The Federal Government, Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Information Systems Agency(DISA) and DCSA PEO Cloud requirements must meet the standards set forth by both DoD and the Cloud CIO. The Department of Defense Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability and Next Stepsto Rationalize Cloud Use Across the Department of Defense memorandum dated AUGUST 2, 2023, states Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Componentswill use the JWCC contract vehicle for all available offerings to procure future enterprise Cloud computing capabilities andservices. All cloud capabilities and services currently under contract in OSD Componentswilltransition to the JWCC vehicle upon expiration of their current period of performance.
