- Microscope Objectives FA875124Q0096 Response date: � ��������������� 31 July 2024 Class Code:������������������������� 6650 NAICS: ������������������������������� 333314 This is a Notice of Proposed Contract Action under the FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures.� This notice is for information only; a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333314 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. AFRL requires microscope objectives with the follow specifications: 493 nm design, Quantity 3, with the following specifications: -Wavelength, 493 nm -FOV atom, 0.25 mm f -NA at waveguide, 0.3 -NA at atom, 0.72 -obj to image, 164.64 mm -first to last vertex, 89.03 mm -waveguide to first vertex, 57.64 mm -Nominal rms OPD, 0.024 waves rms (axis), 0.012 waves rms (o.176 mm f field), 0.029 waves rms (0.25 mm f field) -As built rms OPD, 0.069 waves rms (axis), 0.068 waves rms (o.176 mm f field), 0.080 waves rms (0.25 mm f field) -MAX CA, 53.5 mm f -Vacuum distance, 4 mm FS window + 9.1 mm vacuum -Glass material absorption, 3.6% @ 493nm -Assembly transmission, ~92% @ 493 nm Includes NRE 650nm design, Quantity 3, with the following specifications: -Wavelength, 650 nm -Waveguide NA, 0.18 -Ion side NA, >0.6 -FOV ions, ~0.5 mm f (ion side) -FOV waveguides, >0.5 mm -Magnification from ion to waveguide, >3.33X -Vacuum distance, 9.1 mm -Vacuum window, 4.0 mm (fused silica) -Working distance, >1.5 mm air (barrel to window) -Front of barrel to front of window, <59.27 mm -Include NRE -Outer diameter of objective housing cannot exceed 66.5 mm near the object side of the objective for the first 63.27 mm in order to fit inside of a re-entrant vacuum window. The Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Photon Gear, Inc., 245 David Parkway, Ontario, NY 14519. The Government has determined that no other source has commercial offerings that can meet all the specifications that can couple light from the ion trap in to the waveguides. It is believed that these microscope objectives are the only ones that can satisfy the requirements of the above listed specifications in their entirety.. If these objectives are not procured, there will be significant technical capability degradation to the future experiments for the Government and will cause the inability to meet yearly program milestones. This is a notice of proposed contract action and not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government anticipates an award date on or before 31 August 2024. A Sole Source Justification will be attached to the subsequent Notice of Award in accordance with applicable regulation.
