Fire Department Equipment Service Testing Location: Fort Johnson, Louisiana, 71459 Product Service Code: J042 - MAINT/REPAIR/REBUILD OF EQUIP- FIRE FIGHTING/RESCUE/SAFETY EQUIP; ENVIRON PROTECT EQUIP/MATLS NAICS Code: 811310 - Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance The maintenance and servicing of fire department equipment is crucial to ensure that firefighters have reliable and safe equipment that is functioning within operational standards. In compliance with AR 420-1 and the National Technology and Advancement Act of 1995, the Army Fire and Emergency Services (FES) has adopted the performance standards set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for the equipment used. This is a non-personal service contract under which the personnel rendering the services are not subject, either by the contract�s terms or by the manner of its administration, to the supervision and control usually prevailing in relationships between the Government and its employees. The United States (U.S.) Government shall not exercise supervision or control over the Contractor�s employees performing the tasks herein. Such contract employees shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn shall be responsible to the U.S. Government. The contract includes the following service requirements: - Annual servicing of complete SCBA units (masks, regulators, backpacks, cylinders) - Hydrostatic testing of cylinders - Maintenance of confined space equipment - Service of Cascade compressors for SCBA - Air quality testing for SCBA compressors - Ladder testing, including on-site testing of 110' aerial apparatus with non-destructive testing - Testing of supply and attack hoses - Nozzle flow testing All services, except for air quality testing, will be conducted on-site to minimize disruptions for the fire department. These services are essential to support the mission of Fire & Emergency Services at USAG Fort Johnson, Louisiana and must be performed at regular intervals as outlined in NFPA standards.
