Description
This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to modify an existing purchase order to�RAILROAD CLEANERS, 3500 Clayton RD STE 104, Concord, California, 94519-2460, United States (UEI : SUCDL8WJNPY3), on a sole source basis to provide Laundry Services for the NIH Clinical Center, Family Lodge and The Children's Inn. Scope of Work This requirement is for Laundry Services for NIH Clinical Center, Hospice Unit, The Children�s Inn and Edmund J. Safra Family Lodge. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, transportation, supplies, vehicles, and facilities, except as specified herein as Government-Furnished, necessary to receive soiled linen NIH Clinical Center (bulk laundry), Hospice Unit; which is a part of the Clinical Center, The Children�s Inn and Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge (small load laundry); transport; clean; sanitize; press; fold; bundle; hanger-rack lab coats; load; and, return linen in acceptable, cleaned condition. The Contractor shall accomplish all work in accordance with (1) current Joint Commission Manual; and (2) industry standards.� The scope of the service is for the Clinical Center at approximately one million three hundred thousand (1,300,000) pounds of soiled linen per year and twenty thousand (20,000) pounds of special processing item. The approximate pounds of soiled laundry for The Children�s Inn is thirty-nine thousand six hundred (39,600) pounds per year. The approximate soiled linen pounds for Safra Lodge is twenty-two thousand (22,000) pounds per year. The Clinical Center laundry includes but is not limited to: sheets, towels, pillow cases, blankets, bed spreads, OR scrubs, lab coats, patient pajamas, bed pads, robes, wash cloths, mops (string and micro-fiber), rags, and other linen. Period of Performance � 8/16/2024 � 8/15/2025 Background Laundry services have been provided under a Contractor Owned and Contractor Operated (COCO) facility. The Clinical Center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is located in Bethesda, Maryland. The Clinical Center is the hospital of the NIH consisting of 200 inpatient beds, 81 day hospital stations, outpatient clinics, diagnostic and treatment areas, and public waiting areas. Adjacent to the hospital facilities are research laboratories. The complex consists of the Warren G. Magnuson Clinical Center that covers 661,600 square feet and the Mark O. Hatfield Clinical Research Center (Hatfield Center) that covers 698,263 square feet. The Magnuson Center, sometimes referred to as Building 10, is fifty years old and had a substantial addition completed in 1981, which is called the Ambulatory Care Research Facility (ACRF). The ACRF is a fourteen-floor structure, which houses clinics and research laboratories on each of twelve floors. The first and second levels of the ACRF house clinical services including diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine and pet, surgery, transfusion medicine and laboratory medicine. The Clinical Center also operates the operating rooms (OR) for human surgery. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 812320 with a size standard of $8 million. This acquisition is being conducted under the authority of the FAR Subpart 13.501(a)(2)(i). The total dollar value of this purchase order shall not exceed $750,000.00. This notice of intent to award is not a request for competitive quotations.� Interested concerns capable of providing the same products or services as described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capabilities.� No solicitation is available. Information received will be evaluated for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government.� A determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Current GSA Schedules or NAICS codes appropriate to this Award. d.
