Description
The Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency/U.S. Fire Administration (DHS/FEMA/USFA) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with the InterAcademy Partnership � National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine 500 Fifth St. NW Washington, DC 20001. The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) is a network of 150 national, regional, and global member academies that work together to support the vital role of science in seeking evidence-based solutions to the world�s most challenging problems. The U.S. National Academy of Sciences and the U.S. National Academy of Medicine are members of IAP. IAP�s secretariat offices are hosted by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC, and The World Academy of Sciences in Trieste, Italy. The InterAcademy Partnership, as part of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicines, as the independent, nonprofit science leadership entities that is working with scientists in the US and worldwide at the cutting-edge of wildfire risk modeling. ��InterAcademy Partnership � National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is the only entity that is working with scientists in the US and worldwide that are part of National Academies at the cutting-edge of wildfire risk modeling. The success of this project directly relies on collaboration among National Academies in the US and in other wildfire-prone countries leading the charge in advanced research and solutions for wildfire risk modeling.� The objective of the requirement is to identify challenges and barriers to modeling wildfire and WUI damage in communities and develop a roadmap to more effective wildfire and WUI risk assessment and management in the US and across different nations worldwide; Cultivate research and educational collaboration between researchers and students across continents by laying out detailed mechanisms for sharing data, modeling approaches, exchanging best practices, and research outcomes. These outlined mechanisms will be one of the workshop project deliverables. FEMA determined that the InterAcademy Partnership is uniquely qualified to perform this work.� This purchase order will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. This notice is NOT a request for quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes/proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement.� However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same services.� All capability statements received by the closing of this notification of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.� A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Based on the above information, the only organization known which can provide technically acceptable services is InterAcademy Partnership.
