- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE This is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source announcement only. This is not a request for formal proposals or quotes. Any responses to this announcement will be treated as information only. The purpose of this notice is to provide information based on this requirement. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Procurement, Acquisition, and Logistics (OPAL) Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC), intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price sole source award to Intuitive Surgical, Inc., 1266 KIFER RD, SUNNYVALE, CA 94086 for the purchase of the Da Vinci Bridge Contract. This sole source award to Intuitive Surgical, Inc is in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 6.302-1 entitled, �Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements�. Interested parties that believe they could satisfy the requirements listed in the Salient Characteristics (SC) may identify their interest in writing by the response date for this notice. This notice is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. All responses received by the closing date and time specified in the announcement will be considered by the VA. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that the responding company can fulfil the VA�s requirements. A determination by the VA to not compete is solely within the discretion of the VA.
