Description
Acquisition Description: This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (NIH-CC) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Cook Medical LLC. The National Institute of Healths Clinical Center (Program) has hospitals and clinics that use catheters and are currently in need of more catheters. The purpose of this acquisition is for angiographic catheters used to access the arterial and/or venous system to image the anatomy, and /or administer medication, chemo, intravenous therapy or even an embolic agent.Program is currently using Cook Medical branded Catherers and accompany components and needs to use the same brand of catherers for compatibility, consistency, and continuation of care. Slip-Cath/Beacon Tip and drains is a part of Cook Medicals larger product portfolio of interventional products. These products help to expand treatment options, advancing procedure result. Because the Cook Medical catherers are compatible with other Cook products that Program currently uses, acquiring more Cook manufactured products allows Program to have consistency, compatibility, and provide a continuity of care. For example, the Retracta Detachable Embolization Coil, and the Nester Embolization Coil systems are Cook Medical products that Program has used and relied upon over the years. These products and Cook drainage systems are preferred and demanded by Program physicians who perform the procedures. By using these items in conjunction with each other, our patients, physicians, and researchers are afforded greater Continuity and Consistency of results and success. See the attached Bill of Materials for more details on the list of required items and quantities. Place of Performance or Delivery: Delivery: Within one (1) week of receipt of award. Place of Performance: NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 1901 (a) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements.
