Description
Industry Day in Portland, Maine � U.S. Air Force Weather and the University of Maine with the Roux Institute will hold its inaugural partnership event � Industry Day in Portland, Maine on Apr. 1st and 2nd 2025. The Industry Day will bring together leaders, educators, and innovators from academic institutions and private industry to collaborate on tough problems facing Air Force Weather as they pivot to Great Power Competition (GPC). Air Force Weather personnel will provide mission overviews and discuss their challenges and pain points to solicit innovative ideas for partnering opportunities. The event aims to establish and strengthen connections while providing a platform for industry and academia to discuss innovative ideas for potential research, education and training pathways to Air Force Weather leaders. By cultivating partnerships with world-class academic and industry organizations, Air Force Weather seeks to leverage emerging technologies and research in meteorology, Numerical Weather Modeling, Arctic environmental sensing and sense making, Space Based Environmental Monitoring, space weather data science and AI/ML, and other areas. �By integrating the best ideas from private industry and civilian academic institutions, our Airmen can keep pace with rapid technological advancements in weather forecasting, research and education ensuring we�re prepared to utilize environmental factors to the fullest extent and for the maximum benefit for our armed services,� said Mr. Fred Fahlbusch, Chief, Weather Resources, Programs, Data, and Cybersecurity Division, Air Force Weather. Air Force Weather is eager to expand its partnerships to help solve challenging problems related to national security. Industry and academic institutions interested in becoming involved are encouraged to connect with us to explore potential collaboration opportunities.
