Description
City of Johnstown FY24 Sediment Removal and Concrete RepairsCity of Johnstown, Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement to complete channel maintenance work within the Local Flood Protection Project boundaries of the Conemaugh, Little Conemaugh, and Stonycreek Rivers in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. For FY24, the limits of the maintenance project on the Conemaugh River begin at Station 0+00 and will continue approximately 0.8 miles to approximate Station 43+00. On the Stonycreek River, the project limits will begin at the Central Avenue bridge (approximately as-built Station 165+00) and will continue, at a maximum, 0.9 miles upstream to approximate as-built Station 216+00. The limits of the project on the Little Conemaugh River will begin at the at the low-head dam structure downstream of the Johns Street bridge (approximately as-built Station 8+00) and will continue approximately 1.5 miles upstream to approximate as-built Station 84+50. Major features of work for the Johnstown Sediment Removal Project will generally involve the following:? Removal of approximately 40,000 cubic yards of sediment that will be disposed of at a properly permitted facility and to restore the channel to approximate as-built conditions. These sediment deposits will be sampled, removed, and disposed of in accordance with current State and Federal regulations. ? Cleaning and repair of approximately 2,250 weepholes along the concrete slopes ? Cleaning and resealing of approximately 8,800 linear feet of concrete expansion joints. ? Removal of vegetation within the concrete channels and along concrete banks. The work areas can be accessed from three (3) existing ramp locations at the following locations: near the Laurel Avenue Bridge adjacent to Cooper Avenue; at the end of Baywood Street; and at the Horner Street Bridge, near its intersection with Valley Pike. Various environmental and traffic work restrictions exist which will need to be adhered to during construction. The contractor will be required to adhere to USACE Construction Quality Management concepts and procedures. The contractor will be required to furnish all materials proposed for installation, and will be responsible for properly stockpiling, disposing, or recycling, as appropriate, respective items removed. The work shall be completed within 365 Calendar Days after written Notice to Proceed. Disclosure of Magnitude of Construction (FAR 36.204 and DFARS 236.204) Between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.The acquisition will be procured as 100% Set-Aside for Small Business. The resulting award will be for one (1) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Contract.
