Description
Project Description Project work includes construction of a beach berm along approximately 5,400 feet of shoreline immediately south of Fort Pierce Inlet between Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Range Monuments R-34 and T-39. Beach compatible sand for the project will be dredged from Capron Shoal, located approximately four miles southeast of the project site in state waters. Due to the extensive hardbottom areas located offshore of the fill area, offshore pipeline access to the beach site is prohibited. Offloading the beach fill will be done inside the South Jetty of Fort Pierce Inlet, as shown on the plans. A staging area and beach access to the beach placement area are located at the end of Seaway Drive and near the south jetty offloading area. Work also includes but is not limited to environmental species monitoring, sea turtle trawling (hopper dredges only), turbidity monitoring, beach tilling, beach fill quality control, screening, MEC construction support, and vibration control and monitoring. The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within 60 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and be off the beach no later than 15 May 2025 for Area B and 30 May 2025 for Area A, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use not later than 30 June 2025. For clarification: - Area A is the area between the south jetty (pump off location) Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Range monument R-34 to R-37 where our contractor will need to be off the beach by 30 May 2025. - Area B is south of R-37 where all beach fill activities will need be out of that area by 15 May 2025.A Pre-Bid Conference will be held virtually on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM, EST.
