- Description
- Request for Information (RFI) The U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) is conducting additional market research in preparation for a future acquisition of the Border Security Riverine (BSR). The USCG is seeking information from industry about the current state of the market and possible options that may address the USCG requirements. The BSR is a shore-based boat with a primary mission responding to Law Enforcement operations to include Drug Interdiction (DI), and Migrant Interdiction (MI). A preliminary table of requirements that outlines the features desired in the BSR is attached. This RFI seeks information regarding the following: Do you have a craft already in production that meets the preliminary requirements or a design that could be modified to meet the requirements? If so, please provide information on the design and any boats that have been built to this design. (specification sheets, drawings, photographs, production information, etc.). Do you have a craft that meets the preliminary requirements or a design that could be minimally modified to meet the requirements that is currently in an open contract with any federal government agency? Can you add a cable bar attached from the bow that leads over the center console to protect the operator and crew from cables or wires hung across the river? Is it possible to install a removable Bimini top, T-top, or canopy compatible with the cable bar to provide shade and weather protection. What features and design standard would you incorporate that are innovative and becoming an industry practice? Can you build and deliver an operational test and evaluation boat in a 1-month timeframe? Can you build and deliver follow-on boats at a rate of 2 boats per month? Is 1 year a reasonable period to build and deliver a fleet of 25 boats? For lifecycle support, to what extent do you normally provide logistics information? What are the standard warranty terms? What is the ROM for a first article and subsequent BSR boats? What is your companys size and socio-economic status? Please discuss the normal payment terms for such a contract. Please discuss forms of security you normally provide to support contract. Other comments on the draft specifications. Responses to this RFI shall be submitted to William.E.Lewis3@uscg.mil. This special notice is for market research and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to award a contract from responses to this announcement. Any information submitted by interested parties is strictly voluntary and no monetary compensation will be provided for response preparation.
