- This Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District, for a construction project located in Chesterton, Porter County, Indiana. PROJECT INFORMATION: This is an active Construction Solicitation for the Chesterton Interceptor Rehabilitation project. DESCRIPTION: The project aims to extend the life of the 48-inch RCP sewer interceptor along 8th Street via segmented slip lining. Insertion pits will be used, and segments of pipe will be lowered into the pits and pushed into the sewer using a hydraulic press. The pipe to be rehabilitated spans approximately 3,300 feet, from 8th Street and Morgan Avenue to the Wastewater Treatment Plant on League Lane in Chesterton, Indiana. CONTRACTING OFFICE: USACE Chicago District, 231 South LaSalle Street, Suite 1500, Chicago IL 60604 ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition: This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. NAICS Code: 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction Size Standard: $45.0 Million Magnitude of Construction: Estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. SOLICITATION PACKAGE: The solicitation is downloadable from the internet only. The project specification files are PDF files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested bidders may now download the full package, which includes specification and drawing files. In accordance with FAR 36.211 (b) (1), information on the Construction Contract Modification Process (To Include Equitable Adjustment) can be found at http://www.usace.army.mil/Business-With-Us/Partnering/. Per FAR 36.211 (b) (2), no data is available regarding the timely definitization of equitable adjustments for change orders under construction contracts. IMPORTANT POLICY: Contractors are REQUIRED to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) AT THE TIME A BID/PROPOSAL IS SUBMITTED to comply with the annual representations and certifications requirements.
