Description
Please note that this is not a request for proposal nor a request for quote as there is no solicitation document available. Therefore, this is a notice of intent issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs to negotiate a limited source contract with Lumenis BE Digital Trio including SmartPulse LINE ITEM 0001- Lumens BE Digital Trio including SmartPulse Edward Hines VA Medical Center has a requirement for Lumenis BE Digital Trio. This request is a sole source procurement for an SDVOSB company. T The clinical rooms at Hines are quite small and would benefit from the laser's compact dimensions. Retinal treatments are crucial as they address damage to the eye's light-sensitive tissue, helping to prevent vision loss or blindness caused by conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment. These procedures include laser photocoagulation to seal leaks, injections to reduce swelling, and surgeries to repair tears or remove scar tissue. The Lumenis system has a dual laser allows physicians to perform all anterior segment laser procedures while recording or taking pictures before, during, and after the procedure. These recordings can be used for training purposes. Therefore, the Lumenis BE Digital Trio is the only platform that combines Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, Yttrium Aluminum Garnet Laser, and a retinal care photocoagulator. It is designed as an all-inclusive digital and imaging solution, enhancing practice efficiency and providing advanced capabilities for laser therapy. The Digital Trio configuration incorporates a state-of-the-art retinal care photocoagulator into the digital dual-path SLT-YAG system. Furthermore, the Digital Trio is a cutting-edge, multi-application laser platform that integrates SLT, YAG, and green photocoagulator capabilities into a single, compact system. Designed to enhance clinical efficiency, it utilizes one table and slit lamp for all treatments, ensuring a small footprint and true ADA compliance with a two-leg design that provides full wheelchair accessibility. The system combines two laser modules the Digital Duet (SLT/YAG) and Smart 532 (photocoagulation) offering comprehensive treatment options for both anterior and posterior segments, upgradability, and sub-threshold functionality through SmartPulse technology. Moreover, the Digital Duet is the first and only digital dual-path SLT-YAG system available on the market, specifically designed to improve laser therapy for glaucoma treatment. This innovative system combines both selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) functionalities into a single unit, providing dual-path laser capabilities and enhanced visualization during procedures. It features advanced imaging capabilities, digital image and video capture, as well as optimized illumination, all of which contribute to better patient education and improved treatment outcomes. Additionally, it is tailored for the modern digital clinic, the Digital Trio comes equipped with a high-definition camera for image and video capture, automatic treatment report generation, and seamless EMR integration. Its connectivity options (USB, LAN, and Wi-Fi) facilitate easy data sharing and secure recordkeeping. The Digital Duet delivers industry-leading precision with a Super Gaussian beam profile for minimal optical breakdown, Smart V illumination for improved visibility, and automated internal laser diagnostics to ensure consistent performance. Manufactured in the U.S., it is supported by nationwide field engineers and remote service capabilities for prompt technical assistance. After thorough research, it has been determined that no other vendor can meet the requirements. The purchase of this new equipment from Melling Medical, LLC. is a. sole source purchase order to the vendor that is known to meet the requirement, Melling Medical, LLC., IAW 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(2). Installation, calibration, and on-site training will be provided by Lumenis experts, with manuals included.
