Description
SUBJECT Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to repair this part. ITEM DESCRIPTION The Pilot Warning Alarm Set (NSN 6340-01-153-8073; PN 205-074-033-103), also known as the Revolutions per Minute (RPM) Limit Detector, monitors the speed of the rotor head and the engine. If either has a rate of speed that is too low, it alerts the pilot of this occurrence. This part is utilized by the USAF TH-1H helicopter, which is located at Fort Rucker, AL and has a fleet size of 27 aircraft. This requirement is to repair all 12ea unserviceable units that are in AF inventory. PSC: J016 / NAICS: 336413 This is a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) item sold on the open market to civilian and government customers. Commercial sources and other vendors who currently have (or have had) experience servicing this part or a similar commercial version (and/or have similar repair procedures for a Pilot Warning Alarm System) will be considered a potential candidate since this system is considered a COTS item. The Government relies on vendors to have performed similar-type work in the DoW or industry. Repair shops that use industry-developed technical procedures may also be counted as a legitimate contender for this work-scope. INTEREST The AFSC/PZAAA Contracting Office will consider competing this solicitation amongst the open commercial market if identified repair sources respond to this sources sought synopsis. Each candidate will be evaluated based on legal authorization, technical qualifications, price, and delivery schedule. All interested parties may identify themselves, their interest, and their qualifying capabilities by responding to this requirement no later than 24 February 2026, 5:00 p.m. EST via email to the following government representative: Yashica Woods (yashica.woods@us.af.mil). The Government intends to fulfill this requirement using Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR Subpart 6.1. DISCLAIMER This sources sought synopsis is for informational purposes only. This is not a request for proposal. It does not constitute a solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government. Responses in any form are not offers, and the Government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this announcement. No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this announcement. Any information submitted by respondents to this technical description is strictly voluntary.
