Contact:LISA REA, Tel:713-483-8395 Contracting Officer: LISA REA, Tel:713-483-8395 NASA is seeking the most economical three-axis rotational motion simu- lator available for conducting dynamic simulations of low-rate space and atmospheric flight simulations. Emphasis placed on real time flight control applications._This procurement is being conducted under the NASA JSC midrange test program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy on April 16, 1993. Better delivery schedules, simplicity of operation and maintenance, payload accessibility and demonstration of past performance on three-axis rate tables shall be favorably evaluated during the selection process. --The three axis rates simulator(TARS) shall have full rotational freedom about all three axes of rotation. In addition, the TARS shall have the following characteristics: (1) positioning from 0-360 degrees on each axis independently or concurrently (2) rotational rates of at least 100 degrees per second about each axis independently or concurrently, and (3) angular accelerations (with no load) of at least 80 degrees per second squared. The TARS shall accommodate a payload (including mounting devices) with the following characteristics: (1) dimensions of 20'' long by 12'' wide by 16'' high, (2) maximum weight of 100 pounds, (3) at least 50 electrical lines at 3 amps each, and 4 electrical lines at 5 amps each. The TARS control console shall have the capability to either be used in a manual mode or to receive commands from and provide readout information to a personal computer via a general purpose interface bus. --one each TARS --Johnson Space Center, Houston Texas --No later than 9 months after contract award. --See note 1-This procurement is set aside for small business concerns.
