58 -- MICROWAVE UPCONVERTER POC Contract Administrator, Cathy Beasley, Fax, 202-205-5466 The U.S. Information Agency intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Miteq Corporation for microwave upconverter equipment with the following salient characteristics: Output frequency range 7.1-7.8 GHZ at 50 OHMS, input frequency 70 MHZ at 75 OHMS, plus 5 DBM output power, 1 DB compression at 20 DB gain, input connector type BNC, output connector type SMA, high frequency stability, phase noise less than minus 95 DBC/HZ W/10KHZ offset, characteristic - C selectable output frequencies include (7135, 7145, 7165, 7195, 7235, 7315, 7345, 7375, 7405, 7435, 7490, 7495, 7525, 7555, 7580, 7615, 7640, 7730) MHZ. Required delivery - 120 days ARO: Estimated quantity 6 each. The Basis for using ''Other Than Full and Open Competition'' for this requirement is 41 USC 253 (C) (1) and FAR subpart 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. No contract will be awarded on the basis of responses to this notification, but such responses will be used to determine if comparable sources exist. Any response to this notification must be received by the Contracting Officer by 3:00 PM local time within seven (7) calendar days after the publication date of this synopsis. Responses must contain clear, convincing and substantive evidence to permit technical evaluation of equipment equality. If comparable sources are available, a solicitation may be issued.
