COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JANUARY 6,1995 PSA#1257NOAA, WASC, Procurement Division WC33, 7600 Sand Point Way NE, BIN
C15700, Seattle, WA 98115 59 -- DESIGN, FABRICATE AND EVALUATE A PIT TAG INTERROGATION SYSTEM
SOL 52ABNF500039 DUE 022295 POC For a copy of the solicitation, call
Klint Demetrio at 206-526-4499. For further information, call Contract
Specialist Ed Lancaster at 206-526-6039 The National Oceanic
Atmospheric Administration, National Marine Fisheries Service has a
requirement for services to design and evaluate a PIT tag interrogation
system capable of reading a Destron/Fearing 400 kHz PIT tag system with
the goal of extending the read range, minimize the system/antenna's
susceptability to detuning and minimize the radiated 400 kHz
electromagnetic field at 300 meters using the existing Destron/Fearing
400 kHz PIT Tag system, (or by modifying the existing system). For the
purposes of this effort ''read range'' is defined as the furthest
distance from the antenna (antennas) at which a Deston/Fearing 400kHz
PIT tag can both be excited and read. ''Detuning'' refers to the
antenna (antennas) ability to remain in tune at both the excitation and
receive frequencies in the presence of water with changing electrical
and magnetic properties and in the presence of various metallic and
nonmetallic structures (ferrous metal being a special case). Minimizing
the electromagnetic field at 300 meters facilities compliance with
FCC/NTIA part 15 regulations. All responsible firms may submit
proposals which shall be considered by the agency. FOB Manchester, WA.
