D -- RENEWAL OF MAINTENANCE SERVICE SOL RFP Q2174 due 011695. Contact T. G. Reed-Contract Administrator (518)395-6253. The Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) intends to procure preventive and remedial hardware maintenance for Silicon Graphics (SGI) workstations and related equipment for a period of one year with an option for a second year. The SGI equiqment to be maintained includes 189 Personal Iris (4D/30 and 4D/35) client workstations, 78 Iris Indigo-2 XZ client workstations, 47 Iris Indigo-2 Extreme client workstations, 37 Iris and Indigo server workstations, 11 Onyx Reality Engine-2 superworkstations, and 2 4D/480 compute server workstations. Some workstations include third party compatible equipment comprised of disks, disk controllers and memory. Required response time for a maintenance call will be 2 hours after the buyer has placed a service call or at the beginning of the next Principal Period of Maintenance (PPM) should the call be made with less than two (2) hours remaining in the current PPM. KAPL has requested proprietary software maintenance pricing from SGI, as well as hardware maintenance pricing. The contract(s) that results in the lowest maintenance cost (hardware and software)to the Government will be awarded. Vendors who can furnish the services above should request in writing an RFP. Requests must be received within 15 days of this publication. A DOE ``Q'' Security Clearance is required for this on site work. (003)
