involved with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 8 in
Denver, Colorado in the remediation of the Summitville Mine - EPA
Superfund Site located about 35 miles from Southfork, Colorado. The
site is between 11,000 and 12,000 feet ASL. Reclamation is requesting
information from industry that can be evaluated for use in reclaiming
the site. Specifically, Reclamation is requesting information on the
following: 1. Use of bactericides to inhibit the formation of acid mine
drainage. 2. Use of natural zeolites to treat metal laden waters
discharging from abandoned mine sites. 3. Use of wetlands in high
altitude alpine mine sites as a passive treatment system for metal
laden water. We are requesting design criteria, case histories and
cost/price data be submitted by January 20, 1995, to the Contracting
Officer in Reclamation's Salt Lake City, Utah office. THIS IS NOT A
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS nor will the Government consider any if
