The U.S. Geological Survey anticipates issuance of a sole-source solicitation for 12 months with four option years of on-site full coverage maintenance, including remedial and preventative maintenance, of Government-owned Scitex Cartographic Digitizing and Editing systems, beginning October 1, 1995 at four U.S. locations: Menlo Park, CA; Reston, VA; Rolla, MO; and Denver, CO. There are 27 systems at these four locations. A four hour response time for hardware and software is desired. The Scitex systems include, but are not limited to : R-280 Central Processing Units (CPU's); R-300 CPU's; color-workstations (CD's); ELP III Laser Plotters; R-280/SS super scanners R-280/CE workstations; multi-color raster super scanners; film writing raster plotters (ELP); computer track for scanner & plotter; continuous tone workstations; batch processor systems; and dual track workstations. The preceding systems include, but are not limited to the following subsystems: R-280 magnetic tape units/multiplexers; Scitex FSD disk drives/disk controllers; R-280 display/multiplexers; multiprogrammed port (MMP) Hewlet Packard (HP) model 2113E minicomputers; HP2624 terminals; HP 7925D disk drives; HP 7970E tape drives; HP 13037D disk controllers; Scitex 504E1781 display generators; Scitex 507D17848 function boxes; Sumagraphics HW1CTR141 controllers with HW1TAB1414 tablets; Barco CDC3151 video monitors; Contract 5211C19 color video monitors. Software includes, but is not limited to R-280 * R-300 system software (proprietary to Scitex Corp). Scitex Corp claims proprietary rights to much of the software, documentation, system interfacing, and hardware protocols. Interested firms must submit complete information of their capability to perform these services in compliance with reference note 22, failure to provide the required capability information will eliminate the respondent from consideration.
