The work of this project consists of removal, fabrication, and installation of replacement stone and brick masonry at the northeast corner of the building located at 15 State Street, Boston, Massachusetts, housing the North Atlantic Regional Office of the National Park Service. The principal features of work include removal and replacement of ten exterior granite face stones of varying sizes, including repointing, addition of anchors and installation of control joint; remove and replace brick fireproofing encasing the corner steel column within the sub-basement; expose and treat structural steel column, including sandblasting followed by coating of metal conditioner and two coats of zinc-rich metal primer; remove and replace terra cotta tile cladding at steel column; dismantle and rebuild corner between cornice and top water table at 10th and 11th floors; repoint corner between replacement stones and existing stonework at 5th and 4th floors; install reinforcing steel channels at cracked stone window heads; patch miscellaneous cracks at stones in window heads and adjacent to masonry window openings; remove and replace corroding steel hardware at two corner panels at 3rd floor and patch; and repair cracks at 1st floor corner stone $100,000.
