70 -- 70-SUBSYSTEM STORAGE PROTECT FOR AMDAHL 5990 POC Point of Contact, Wayne Jeffers, 304/480-6529, Contracting Officer, Cynthia Z. Springer, 304/480-6465 Subject to final approval, the Bureau of the Public Debt intends to acquire, on a sole-source basis through PacifiCorp Capital, Inc., the following FIP equipment and maintenance thereon for the balance of a systems life of six years: Amdahl CPU Feature 4298, Subsystem Storage Protect for Amdahl 5990-700 CPU, with future upgrades to 5990-1100 and 5990-1400. Installation in existing Amdahl 5990-700 CPU shall be included. Maintenance thereon shall be included with coverage for 24 hours per day / 7 days per week / 365 days per year. Maintenance response times shall be two (2) hours during PPM, four (4) hours outside PPM. The PPM shall be 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (13 hours) Monday through Friday, excluding Government holidays. Equipment offered must be fully compatible with Amdahl 5990-700, -1100, and -1400 CPU's and possess the following salient characteristics: Shall prevent the inadvertent overwriting of system programs, control blocks, and other application programs and data. Delivery, installation, and maintenance shall occur at Bureau of the Public Debt, 200 Third Street, Parkersburg, WV. All affirmative responses must be in writing, must be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show compatibility and compliance to all the above requirements, and must be received within 15 calendar days of this notice. If no affirmative written response is received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable item(s)/services is/are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these items/services through the current contractor, a sole-source award will be made.
