202-708-6498 John King 202-708-8367. D - This solicitation is for the
development, implementation and operation of the Depertment of
Education Title IV Multiple Data Entry (MDE) services in support of the
Title IV Student Aid Programs. The contract shall have a base period of
approximately thirty three months which coincides with the 1996-97
Application Cycle. An additional four option periods for the 1997-98,
1998-99, 1999-2000 and 2000-01 Application Cycles may be exercised. The
total possible period of performance fo the contract is eighty one (81)
months. The Multiple Data Entry (MDE) contractors receive the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Renewal FAFSA, or Student
Aid Report (SAR); perform document analysis, electronic document
imaging, and data entry; and transmit the data and document images to
the CPS. The Statement of Work, Cost Tables, Technical Proposal
Instructions, Technical Evaluation Criteria, and the List of Potential
Offerors who attended the Presolicitation Conference will be available
through the ED Bulletin Board on or about Thursday January, 12, 1995.
The ED Bulletin Board is accessible to all callers. There are no
pre-registration requirements or user charges (except for long distance

14,400 bps modems with settings of 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity.

on). After logging on: (1) proceed to the Main Menu; (2) on the BBS
Main Menu, select the ''MDE work statement submenu; (3) follow the
instructions on the sub-menu, for downloading the files. Both
compressed and uncompressed files are available. RFP-95-004 will be
issued on or about January 26, 1995. It is anticipated that the closing
date for receipt of proposals will be on or about March 1, 1995.
