TEST & EVALUATION SYMPOSIUM XI ``T&E OF ATDS AND ACTDS: REDUCING RISKS IN TECHNOLOGY INSERTION DURING THE ACQUISITION PROCESS'' The American Defense Preparedness Association, in cooperaton with the International Test and Evaluation Association, and with participation by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition), Test and Evaluation, Land & Maritime Programs, will conduct a symposium and exhibition on ``T&E of ATDs and ACTDs: Reducing Risks in Technology Insertion During the Acquisition Process'' January 31-February 3, 1995, at both the Lyndon B. Johnson Library at the University of Texas at Austin and the Stouffer Hotel, Austin, TX. The symposium will provide a forum to examine the role of Testing and Evaluation (T&E) in the timely insertion of new technologies into our weapon systems and the ways in which T&E would contribute to DoD's Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs) and Advanced Concept Technology Demonstrations (ACTDs) process. The process. The symposium will: provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of ideas; discuss commercial T&E practices relative to technology insertion and the role T&E plays in risk reduction; explore how T&E can be integrated to accelerate the fielding of technology; determine where and how life cycle cost savings can be achieved; and discuss how the DoD acquisition process could be improved to respond to ATD and ACTD initiatives.
