S. Army Engineer District, Walla Walla intends to issue an invitation for bids for extended submerged bar screens for the Little Goose and Lower Granite Dam Projects located on the Snake River, Columbia and Garfield Counties, Washington. Requirements include metalwork fabrication, shop test, delivery, installation and field testing of 36 each new Extended Submerged Bar Screens (ESBS). Eighteen screens are required for each dam. Screen units are approximately 52' X 22' X 4'. Screens must stand upright (52' tall) for shop testing. Screens must be delivered as a complete unit, by barge, to the dams. Screens must be offloaded from barge and set into bulkhead gate slots in the powerhouse intake decks by Contractor-furnished crane. Screen weight of 60 tons (estimated) is anticipated. Electrical control panels must be modified. Size standard for small business concerns under Standard Industrial Classification Code 3441 is 500 employees. This procurement will have bonding requirements. Action is advertised unrestricted, all responsible offers will be considered by this agency. A non-refundable payment of $82.00 for plans and specifications, payable to USAED, PORTLAND, shall accompany written requests for solicitations. (0010)
