Open 1) Construction Title Construction of substructure for machiya viaduct; 2) site from 2-chome machiya to 4- chome nakajima, urawa-Shi, saitama-ken; 3) summary foundation for bridge substructure (reinforced concrete footing for steel piers), 8 sets; cast-in-site piles (1 5 meters in diameter and 28 5 to 46.5 meters in length), 102 piles; maximum excavation depth of earth retaining Walls, approx 13 meters; steel pipe sheet piles, 4 sets; 8TEEL sheet piles, 4 sets; and detour Construction, approx 400 meters; 4) Construction period: approx. 12 months (360 days); 5) main materials to be used approx. 630 tons of steel, approx 7,200 cubic meters of concrete, approx 580 tons of steel sheet piles, approx. 1,400 tons of steel pipe sheet piles, and approx 740 tons of asphalt compounds; 6) deadline for submission of application forms/related documents for qualification screening 17:30, jan. 19, 1995; 7) contact for tender documents contract Division, General Affairs Department, Kanto Regional Construction Bureau, Ministry of Construction, 1-3-1 Otemachi, Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo 100 eligible tender participants 1) firms that do not fall under articles 70 and 71 of the cabinet order concerning budget, auditing, and accounting; 2) firms qualified for open competitive tendering on Public works by the Kanto Regional Construction Bureau; 3) firms that score 1,000 points or more in a formula calculated from bidding company's objective criteria at the time of application for qualification; 4) firms not undergoing bankruptcy procedures; 5) firms that have -- since 1988 as the main contractor -- actually carried out Construction of the following (a), (B), and (C) (note only Construction Projects in which bidder has had a 30 percent or greater share are eligible for consideration) a) a cast-in-site pile foundation, excluding caisson-type piles, of at least 40 meters pile length, for bridge substructure (abutments, piers); B) a concrete structure, using earth retaining Walls (including temporary Construction), of at least 10 meters excavation depth; and C) work in a currently used city street, securing at least four lanes traffic; 6) firms that can assign to the Construction site a full-time field representative who has -- since 1988 as field representative or Chief Engineer -- had Construction experience as described in item (5) - (C) above; 7) firms that can assign to the Construction site a pull-time Chief Engineer or engineering supervisor who meets the following criteria a) is qualified as a certified first-class Construction supervisor or equivalent or higher; B) has since 1988 had Construction experience as described in item (5) - (B) above; and C) in the case of engineering supervisor, is qualified to supervise designated Construction works; 8) firms not currently suspended from designation by the Director of the Kanto Regional Construction Bureau; and 9) firms not related by capital or personnel to the contractors involved in this project bid documents must be obtained directly from the submitting agency, not from U S.
