HETRICK Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation, and supervision to sandblast 2300 sq.ft. of lead containing paint from the light tower, painting the light tower, replacing 30 astragals, reglazing the lanternhouse, removing an existing curb at the tower base and placing a new curb (3 yds. concrete). All debris from the sandblasting and curb removal will be disposed of off site by the contractor. Cape Neddick Light is located in York Beach, Maine on a ''nubble'' just off the main land. The nubble is accessible by walking over rocks at low tide and is otherwisse accessible by boat only. The high cliff features of the nubble may necessitate the use of a heavy lift helicopter to transport materials to and from the nubble. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 25 January 1995. This procurement is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration program. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES FOR MINORITY, WOMAN OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED ENTERPRISES: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, woman-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
