B -- SCHIZOPHRENIA PATIENT OUTCOMES RESEARCH SOL 689-44-95 DUE 021595 POC Contact Point, Mark Phillips, (203)937-3086 The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source contract to Survey Research Associates (SRA) under authority of FAR 6.302. The contractor is to develop forms and conduct interviews of veteran patients at VA and non-VA facilities to evaluate treatment received. Work to be done under a VA HSR&D grant as an extension of an existing non-VA project, the Agency for Health Care Policy Research's (AHCPR's) Schizophrenia Patient Outcomes Research Team (PORT). This VA project will use the same forms and procedures as the AHCPR PORT. SRA has developed all forms and conducted all data collection for the PORT, and has trained its research staff in the required procedures. The contractor is to develop forms and procedures for the study, conduct patient interviews, develop a computer program to monitor progress of fieldwork, provide computer generated progress reports, and deliver a clean data tape of interviews. SRA has the background, knowledge and experience to do this project. Responsible sources may respond with their capability to provide these services. All responses received within fifteen days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
