bids will be accepted from all business concerns for Voyageurs
National Park Project PRA-VOYA 100(1) in St. Louis County, MN,
consisting of constructing 3.1 miles of new roadway, 1.7 miles of new
service roadways, and 2 new parking areas, and includes grading,
placing aggregate base, asphalt surfacing, drainage, and other work.
Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Silt
Fence, 40,000 LNFT; Roadway Excavation, 191,000 CUYD; Select Topping,
36,000 CUYD; Roadway Obliteration, 28,000 SQYD; Aggregate Base, 34,000
TONS; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement, 14,000 TONS; Structural Concrete,
200 CUYD; Epoxy Coated Reinforcing Steel, 20,000 LB; Pipe Culvert,
4,000 LNFT; Water System, LPSM; Electrical Installation, LPSM. The
project is expected to fall within the price range of $1,000,000 to
$5,000,000 and has a construction completion date of September 15,
1996. Invitation for Bids No. DTFH71-95-B-00002 to be issued on or

lists will be mailed first class. It is strongly recommended that all

Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization has bonding programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises in acquiring
short-term capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide
accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond
