The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for an S band (2856 MHz), 20 MW klystron and accessories for high energy electrons production. The system is a radio frequency (RF) powered high energy electron source, operating at the S band frequency of 2856 MHz. Minimum required components of the accessories include: 1) a 2856 MHz klystron powered, 1 and 1/2 cells, thermionic cathode, RF electron gun cavity, 2) an electromagnetic focusing magnet for the klystron, 3) x- ray and corona shieldings for the klystron, 4) an ion pump and seals for the klystron, and 5) a 20 MW, S-band, RF waveguide window.
