on a 66 MHz (or faster) 486DX2 or equivalent CPU with a 16-bit ISA or
32-bit EISA bus structure. The units shall possess a PCI local bus for
video adapter and SCSI Interface. Minimum of megabytes (Mb) of dynamic
random access memory (RAM) installed with a 64-bit memory bus access,
sockets for an additional 48 Mb (minimum total capacity of 64 Mb). SCSI
interface and removable hard disk drive (500 MB (minimum, unformatted)
SCSI drive and PCI local bus interface). Internal fixed hard disk is
not acceptable. One 5-1/4'' 1.2 Mb and one 3-1/2'' 1.44 Mb diskette
drives. One parallel port and one serial port. 15'' (minimum) color
monitor with a resolution of 1024x768 at 72 Hz non-interlaced and a
minimum of .28 mm dot pitch. A PCI compatible video card capable of
supporting VGA, Super VGA (800x600), and 1024x768 screen resolutions.
The video card shall support 24-bit color at VGA and Super VGA
resolutions. CPU and Monitor must be Energy Star complaint. An exact
demonstration unit of the proposed equipment must be provided for a one
month evaluation period. Seller shall provide for on-site warranty
coverage. Site access requires a Department of Energy clearances. Award
will be made to the lowest responsive bidder. Requests for inquiry
packages must be put in writing (telephone requests will not be
honored) and postmarked no later than 15 days after the date of
