Open 1) Construction Title Construction of the shimokawa tunnel on the tokushima Expressway; 2) site from aza- shindenyama, shibau-Cho to aza-hirami, shimokawa-Cho, kawanoe-Shi, ehime-Ken; 3) summary this project involves Construction of a Highway (tentatively two-lane) of 1,715 meters in length (earth work volume 320,000 cubic meters), including excavation of a tunnel (at one site, 875 meters), substructure work for a bridge (at one site, 354 meters), and superstructure and substructure work for a bridge (at one site, 121 meters); total length 1,715 meters; width - Highway portion 10 50 meters X 1, bridge portion 8 50 meters X 2, tunnel portion 9.50 meters X 1; earth work volume 320,000 cubic meters; tunnel at one site, 875 meters; bridge - superstructure and substructure work at one site 121 meters, substructure work only at one site 354 meters, 6 abutments, 27 piers; foundation work - concrete compaction piles (1 2 meters in diameter, 382 meters in total length), caisson-type piles (2 5 meters in diameter, 129 meters in total length), caisson-type piles (3.0 meters in diameter, 187 meters in total length), caisson-type piles (3 5 meters in diameter, 35 meters in total length); viaduct at one site; and cross structure - culvert box at one site, culvert pipe at one site; 4) Construction period 1,110 days; 5) main materials to bb used approx. 29,000 cubic meters of concrete, approx. 2,000 tons of reinforcing steel, approx 700 tons of asphalt compounds, approx 500 meters of guard Rail; 6) documents for qualification screening 16:00, jan. 20, 1995; 7) contact for Tender documents contract Division, procurement and right-of-way Department, Takamatsu Construction Bureau, Japan Highway Public Corporation, 4-1-3 Asahi-Cho, Takamatsu-Shi 760 eligible Tender participants firms qualified to participate in this project's bidding must satisfy all of the following conditions and have their qualifications for this project's bidding screened and confirmed by the Director of the Takamatsu Construction Bureau 1) firms that do not fall under article 4 of the contract regulations of Japan Highway Public Corporation; 2) firms pre-qualified for open competitive tendering on Road and earth work by the taxamatsu Construction Bureau of Japan Highway Public Corporation for fy 93/94, and consortia comprised of two qualified firms; 3) firms that have -- in the past five years (since 1989) as the main contractor -- actually carried out Construction of a tunnel of at lrast 0 7 kilometer in length and at lbast 50 square meters in designed inner Section by the '' natm'' method note: only onstruction projects in which bidder has had a 30 pbrcent or greater share are eligible for consideration, and in the case of a consortium, all member firms must have a similar experience; 4) firms that can assign to the Construction site a field Representative or a full-time chief engineer or engineering supervisor who meets the following criteria has had experience of tunneling by the ''natm'' method as field Representative or as chief engineer or engineering supervisor in the past five years (since 1989); 5) firms not suspended from designation in no 7 zone by Japan Highway Public Corporation; 6) in the case of a consortium, each member firm must satisfy the following criteria a) has been in operation for at least five years in qualified business under the Construction business law; B) can assign to the Construction site a full- time engineering supervisor qualified for this project under the conntruction business law or a full- time nationally-licensed chief engineer; and C) has an at least 30 percent share of involvement, and T he rbpresentative firm must have the greatest share firms pre-qualified by the Construction minister regarding items (a) and (B) in evaluation of their management operations are exempted from these criteria; and 7) firms not related by capital or personnel to the contractors involved in this project (see Tender documents for details) bid documents must be obtained directly from the submitting agency, not from U S.
