perform routine drydock and vessel maintenance including but not
limited to the following items: welding repairs; remove, inspect and
reinstall propeller shafts; renew shaft coverings; renew shaft seals;
inspect and overhaul controllable pitch propeller system hub
assemblies; inspect and overhaul designated servo control box and servo
motor; clean and test grid coolers; remove, inspect and reinstall
rudders; preserve underwater body; preserve sewage collection and
holding tanks; renew corrosion preventive zinc anodes; preserve machine
stop bilge; repair and preserve cargo water tanks; preserve freeboard;
temporary logistics; routine drydocking. Vessel's homeport is New
London, CT. Vessel length is 157 feet. Vessel is not geographically
restricted. Vessel availability schedule is 24 April 1995. There will
be a non-refundable charge of $100 required in the form of a certified
check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for
requested drawings and publications. Orders must be placed within ten
(10) days of issuance of the solicitation. The proposed contract listed
here is part of The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration
Program. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Programs enables firms to apply for bid, performance
and payment bonds up to $500,00 per contract. DOT provides an 80
percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. For
