Alexandria Electricity Power Distribution Holding Company in the Arab
Republic of Egypt, requests Bids from U.S. firms who can qualify
through experience in providing similar equipment for 11KV Distribution
Equipment. The Equipment required includes: 150 SF6 Vault Style
Loadbreak Switches; 300PILC Termination Kits; 30,000 Tap Connections;
200 Compression Splices; 90,000 Service Entrance Sleeves; 300 Dead-End
Grips; 20,000 Ground Rods and Clamps; 40,000 Bronze Connectors; 10,500
Parallel Connectors: 22,000 Compression Terminal Barrels; 25,000 Rolls
Electric Tape; 500 Photoelectric Controls and Bracket; and 25
Electronic Time Controls. The anticipated initial delivery date is
September 1, 1995 with final delivery by March 15, 1996. A Fixed-Price
Host Country Contract with AEDC is anticipated. Payment will be made
in U.S. Dollars by USAID/Cairo in accordance with the terms and
conditions of the Direct Letter of Commitment under USAID Grant No.

Deadline for submission of bids is 12:00 noon, Alexandria Egypt time,
March 22, 1995 at the Office of the General Manager of Purchasing
Department of AEDC. Late submissions will not be considered. Award will
be made by the Chairman, AEDC. The Government of the Arab Republic of
Egypt and the U.S. Agency for International Development encourage and
welcome in this activity the participation, to the fullest extent
possible, of minorities and women both as individuals and as members of
contracting or sub-contracting firms. In this respect, it is
anticipated that the prime contractor will make every reasonable effort
to identify and make the maximum practicable use of such personnel and
