66 -- PYROTECHNIC SENSITIVITY TESTING EQUIPMENT SOL DAAA03-95-R-0045 DUE 031595 POC Thaddious Kee, Contract Specialist, 501/540-3040. 6635-01-X94-1068, Pyrotechnic Sensitivity Testing Equipment, in accordance with Pine Bluff Arsenal's Purchase Description No. 1402, dated September, 1994. Scope: Provide Pine Bluff Arsenal (PBA) with a complete pyrotechnic sensitivity characterization laboratory. Contractor is to provide sufficient documentation in the form of drawings, manuals and test protocols so that test results obtained with these devices can be reproduced by others in the pyrotechnic community. Contractor is to procure, and/or fabricate, proveout and train PBA personnel in the proper use and maintenance of the equipment. The testing equipment is not expected to require installation. Technical Requirements: Both the rate of pressure rise and the heat of combustion shall be measured using a bomb calorimeter. A single bomb calorimeter is to be used to measure the rate of pressure and temperature rise simultaneously. The device should be capable of initiating a pyrotechnic composition by either nichrome wire leads to the calorimeter, or by an external heating element. The entire system shall be computer controlled with the appropriate software to produce plots of rate of temperature rise and rate of pressure rise (temperature rise vs. time and pressure rise vs. time) and temperature vs pressure. Computer software: The government will supply an IBM compatible computer with an 80486 microprocessor and a clock speed of 66 MHz. The computer will have a 16 MB Ram, and five 16 bit slots on the motherboard. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Quantity: 1 Each. Delivery F.O.B.
