(509)247-2235. Major items of work include but are not limited to the
following issues. The repair and replacement of underground heating oil
tanks at Fairchild AFB, WA. Upgrade a 10,000 gallon heating oil tank at
Building 1413 by installing lining and spill and overspill prevention
devices. Replacement of five other tanks situated at the following
locations, Building 1407, 1410, 1710, 2175 and 2386. Tanks shall be
replaced with at least equal sized tanks of equal worth in the same
locations. Work shall include excavation of soil and other material
(asphalt or concrete) above and around the immediate area of the tank
and piping. If contaminated soil is found, it shall be removed, treated
and disposed of in a proper/legal manner. Project shall be bid by
bidding schedule by unit price and estimated quantity of contaminated
soil work. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and
$250,000. Contract performance period is 90 calendar days. Working
hours are weekdays, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, excluding federal holidays.
Three tanks are located in a restricted or controlled area. Government
furnished materials are not included. The solicitation is scheduled to
be issued on or about 13 February 1995. The SIC code is 1799. The
solicitation is being considered for 100% Small Disadvantaged Business
Set-Aside (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should contact the
Fairchild contracting office as soon as possible, but no later than 10
Feb. 1995. Interested parties must include a positive statement of
eligibility as a Small Disadvantaged Business concern, evidence of
capacity to obtain bonds for a project of this magnitude, and
information that demonstrates a capability to perform projects of this
complexity and magnitude. Complete information concerning management
experience in similar work and financial status should be submitted
with references. If adequate interest is not received from SDB
concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis
without further notice. Therefore, replies to this office are still
requested from all interested business concerns as well as from Small
