White, GP25-O, 205-544-0337/Contract Specialist, or Jane Maples, GP25-B/Contracting Officer NASA/MSFC plans to purchase form Advanced Engineering Technologies, under the terms and conditions of Swanson Analysis Systems, Inc., 70 ADP GSA Schedule Contract GS00K93AGS5669-PS02 (Option Year 2) the software as more particularly described herein -- Item 1, ANSYS Software Maintenance, including software upgrades and technical support for the SGI 440 VGX Workstation, on an unlimited basis for one year -- Item 2, ANSYS Software Maintenance, including software upgrades and technical support for the SGI Onyx Workstation, on an unlimited basis for one year -- Item 3, ANSYS Software Maintenance, including software upgrades and technical support for the Cray YMP, on an unlimited basis for one year -- This is a sole source procurement based on proprietary specifications and system compatibility -- Period of Performance is March 1, 1993 through February 28, 1996 -- This is a notice of intent to procure in accordance with FIRMR 201-39.501-3 through an existing GSA ADP Schedule Contract and shall not be considered a request for offers -- ADP schedule firms must indicate their interest within 15 days after publication of this notice and furnish quotations, product information (including sufficient technical documentation to evaluate the product), and GSA schedule contract, if they can meet or exceed the requirements as described by the brand name item -- Non-ADP schedule firms will be considered if responding within 15 days, with clear and convincing documentation that the proposed system meets or exceeds the characteristics of the brand name item described at a cost sufficiently more advantageous than the schedule contract named (including price quotations) -- No solicitation exists and requests for such documents, without the foregoing required documentation, will be considered nonresponsive -- Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice -- Transmission by facsimile to 205-544-9081 or by Internet e-mail to pamela.white@msfc.nasa.gov is acceptable -- If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice that meet the requirements above, NASA/MSFC will place the order for the brand name item in accordance with the GSA Schedule contract named above -- All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered -- As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued -- If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published -- Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended schedule vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation.
