POC Michael J. Loewe Contract Specialist (301) 496-8611. The National
Cancer Institute (NCI) is re-competing a contract for Continuation of

sample of 64,185 of the 280,000 women who previously participated in a
five-year multi- center breast cancer screening program -- the BCDDP
-- conducted during 1973-1980. Under this proposed acquisition, the

last three years. The Contractor shall establish and maintain a
centralized office in which documents associated with this study can be
stored and from which mail and telephone interviews can be conducted.
The Contractor shall modify existing mail and telephone questionnaires.
The Contractor shall provide personnel to conduct the follow-up
activities, obtaining the following information for each participant:
(1) vital status information on cohort members, (2) responses to one
mailed questionnaire from living study subjects during the three-year
study period, (3) copies of pathology reports, hospital discharge
summaries and operative reports for all cancers and breast procedures
reported since the last interview performed during the period September
30, 1992 through September 29, 1995, (4) copies of estrogen and
progesterone receptor reports for all breast cancers reported since the
last interview and (5) copies of death certificates for all deceased
subjects since the last interview. The estimated total level-of-effort
for the three-year period of performance is 44,000 direct labor hours.
It is anticipated that the RFP package will be available on or about
February 6, 1995 with responses due within 30 calendar days following
the actual date of issuance of the RFP. Award of this project is
