NASA Lewis Research Center seeks sources for a multiyear program to develop enabling technologies in space electrical power systems, hardware, components and software. The effort to be performed is in support of anticipated space exploration and utilization programs and to support the reconfiguration, upgrading and maintenance of the Electrical Power System Test Facility at the NASA Lewis Research Center. The work to be performed shall include, but is not limited to, development of electrical power systems, hardware, components and software to the brassboard, or prototype level. The following classes of anticipated space flight programs are the International Space Station and solar sourced electrical power generation, including EPS controls strategies, simulations and simulators, and their related software implementations to enhance autonomous on-orbit operations with minimum energy and processing resource utilization. Any interested source shall identify their status as a small business or 8(a) firm or large business. Responses should be received by February 6, 1995, at M.S. 500-312. Potential sources shall provide information related to their overall scientific, technical, and engineering capabilities and related experience which are pertinent to the proposed program. Subsequent to receipt and evaluation of this notice, NASA intends to issue a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) to fulfill the requirements of this program. It is anticipated that the RFP will be issued about early March with proposals due thirty days later. Estimated period of performance is 60 months, base period of twelve months with option periods for either four twelve month options or two twenty-four month options. See Numbered Note(s): 25. (0019)
