material, equipment, transportation and supervision required to remove
and replace roof shingles on tower roof and station building;p remove
and replace tower cupola walkway covering with EPDM membrane; remove
and replace exterior fire escape; remove and replace eleven heat pumps
(indoor and outdoor units), hot water coils, and associated
refrigerant lines; replace approximately 2000 LF of potable water
supply and circulating heating water piping; remove and replace
approximately 320 SF of plywood flooring, located beneath each of the
air handlers; extend duct and diffusers; disconnect and remove three
existing safety switches and associated wire and conduit; furnish and
install ten new 240V, 2 pole circuit breakers and three new 30A, 2 pole
weatherproof safety switches and associated wire and conduit; and
connect and test the installation. Work to be performed at U. S. Coast
Guard Station Ocracoke, NC. This procurement is estimated between
$100K and $250K and is open to large and small businesses under the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The applicable
SIC code is 1542. Bid opening is on/or about 14 March 1995. Completion
time is 120 DANTP. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required in
the form of a cashier's check, certified chedk, or money order made
payable to the ``U. S. Coast Guard.'' Cash, company checks or personal

Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and
payment bonds up to $1.0 millin per contract. The DOT provides an 80%
guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interesy rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
