and equipment necessary to perform routine Drydock & Repairs to the
USCGC PENDANT (WYTL 65608). Base Items to be performed include but are
not limited to the following: 1. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall
Propeller Shaft 2. Fabricate and Install Propeller Nut Seal Retainer 3.
Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings 4. Remove and Reinstall Propeller
5. Clean and Test Grid Coolers 6. Preserve the Transducer Hull Rings
and Renew the Depth Indicating Transducers 7. Renew and Test Valves 8.
Inspect Steering Gear System 9. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder
10. Remove and Dispose of Diesel Fuel (up to 500 gallons) 11. Clean and
Inspect Diesel Fuel Tanks 12. Provide New Diesel Fuel (up to 500
gallons) 13. Preserve Underwater Body-Coating System thickness
measurements 14. Clean and Inspect Sewage Holding Tank (3-6-0-V) (221
Gallon Capacity) 15. Clean, Inspect and Disinfect Potable Water Tank
(1000 gallons) 16. Renew Corrosion Preventive Zinc Anodes 17. Provide
Temporary Messing - Provide Breakfast 18. Provide Lunch 19. Provide
Dinner 20. Provide Temporary Berthing 21. Temporary Logistics 22.
Routine Drydocking 23. Inspect Valves In-Place 24. Preserve Main Hold
Bulkheads. Option Items to be performed include but are not limited to
the following: 1. Welding Repairs 2. Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel,
JP-5 Fuel, Lube Oil and Hydraulic Oil Tanks 3. Preserve Potable Water
Tank(s) 4. Provide additional Temporary. 5. Provide Temporary Berthing
6. Ultrasonic Testing-Single Shots 1-99, 100 Shots per group and 500
Shots per group 7. Additional Temporary Logistics Large and Small
Businesses are encouraged to Submit bids. USCGC PENDANT's homepier is
Boston, MA. The place of performance for USCGC PENDANT's yard
availability is geographically restricted from Port Clyde, Maine to the
Rhode Island/Connecticut border. Vessel Availability is scheduled for
01 May 1995. The performance period is 28 calendar days. Solicitation
(IFB) is anticipated to be issued on or about 23 Jan 1995. There will
be a non-refundable charge of $100.00 required in the form of a
certified check or money order made payable to the United States Coast
Guard for requested drawings and publications. For Minority,

Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to
apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
