The US Army, ARDEC intends to modify contract DAAA21-94-C-0079 with Olin Ordnance Corporation, St. Marks Operation to procure additional spheroidal propellant manufactured via a continuous waterborne ball powder process. The purpose of this effort is to develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate spheroidal propellant formulations and geometrics for use on 120mm enhanced ammunition. The propellant is to be tested in both increment containers and ignition cartridges. The contractor will manufacture six lots of 150lbs each of spherical M45 type propellant, three lots, 300lbs each M44 type propellant and one lot, 2000lbs each of optimized propellant for final Government qualification testing.
