USUHS proposes to conduct this procurement for a gamma counter with an internal computer by other than full and open competition. The Isomedic 4/600 model, which is manufactured by ICN Biomedicals, Inc, is the only gamma counter which will meet the USUHS requirement. SPECIFICATIONS: Four 7.4 cu in NAI crystals for counting I-125 & other isotopes up to 1500 kev. Front and bottom lead shielding (1 3/4'' or 45mm thick) reduces background contribution (deck splash) from high energy isotope samples on deck. Stainless steel deck for up to 600 tubes. Max tube size, mm, 8-12 dia, 50-75 hght. On board, 80286 based, 16 bit at compatible microprocessor, 9'' color monitor, high spd printer & color software. On board 30 megabyte hard disk with 3 1/2 micro-floppy disks. Detectors matched to within 1%. RS232C output with adj baud rate. Greater than 75% effic for I-125 background as I-125 less than 75 cpms. Count time variable from .1 to 99 min. in .1 min. increments. Interchangeable lift rod caps and guide rod tips. Electronics pkge easy access thru front panel. White polane-t chemically resistant cabinet surface. Multiple assay stacking capability. Sample change time -7 seconds/4 tubes. Twenty place rack - centrifugible & compatible with msi aps and accuflex pipetting stations. Rack capable of accepting conical bottom tubes. Accepts msi 20 place 8 x 50 and 12 x 75 racks. Table top counter. Dimensions: width 40 in, depth 24.4 in, hght 22.75 in, wght 325 lb. Manual (stat) count mode may be accessed thru an interrupt if an isotope for building isotope library. High energy crossover correction is applied when higher energy isotopes are counted. Programs for automatically checking reproducibility (chi-square) and counting efficiency for each detector.
